For many, many years, I did not dare ride the Mad Hatter's Mad Tea Party. Most of my family and friends felt it was important to spin fast enough to be able to deal with nuclear materials. Watching people's eyeballs going back into their heads was never a pretty sight. But two things happened. First, Disney screwed the tea cups a bit tighter and now they don't spin so freely (go to Knotts for that experience). Second, I just don't spin the tea cup.
This was one of the original attractions that debuted on opening day. Back in 1982, the attraction was moved about 150 feet east toward Alice In Wonderland. Since the move, there has become a sort of mini-"Alice" land. It has been my experience, that during the fireworks, the ride still operates and you can ride again and again as most people are standing around. However, it is very easy to steer the tea cup and you can get some incredible views.
So let's go for a ride on the Mad Tea Party.
