Cozy at Christmas Blog Tour. . .

It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year and I love everything about it!!

The significance, the decorating, the music, the baking, the cozy spirit,. . .(I could go on and on! :)

That's why I am so excited to invite you into our home.

But before we enter, let me thank Katie for asking me to be included in this wonderful tour!

I hope that you feel right at home from the time you step foot on to our front porch!

My style is eclectic and you'll find that it holds true with my Christmas décor as well.

You might feel a slight chill in our entry.  Don't worry, we have to keep it a bit cool so that our snowmen don't melt. :)

But surely this whimsical mushroom/gnome tree should help warm your heart!

Let's turn to the right and enter our living room.

This is the room that I am showcasing some of my favorite collections.  If you want to see more visit

My friend, Joanne makes the cutest bottle brush trees.  Last year she shared her tips with me.  I am smitten and made more this year to create a mini forest.  To see how, visit Trees to Dye for

Those who have followed me for a while know my love for plaid.  You'll find that it abounds in both our family room and kitchen.

I'm going for a cozy cabin feel.

See that crazy thing sticking out of the tree? I have three real nests in my tree.  One of them was given to me by my daughter, Kylee. It was lodged in a branch and she cut it off and brought it to me.  I stuck it in just like that.  Love the whimsy that it gives!

This year the theme of our kitchen seems to be "Keep on truckin".  I'll be sharing more in a later post.

My jadite and ruby red dishes are displayed in some of my cabinets with glass doors.  I opened them up for you to get the 'big' picture.  lol!  When they're closed you don't see a lot of them.

Now I want to take you back in time for just a moment.
Some of you might remember as a child, walking down into the basement of a department store and stepping into 'Toyland"

An 80+ year old lady shared her Christmas memories at our church Christmas dinner.  She reminisced about 'toyland' and it took me back to my childhood.  Immediately I knew I wanted to decorate our basement with that theme in mind.

Farm toys adorn the mantle.  Gifts for girls sit on top of my old incubator. Of course, Santa is near by.

I always decorate in a candy/gingerbread theme.  This year I added vintage toys to the tree as well.

The kitchen showcases my love for red polka dot, striped, and checked dishes.

An old fashioned 'magical' Christmas is what I have tried to create in our basement.  I'm hoping to develop fond memories for my grands.

When I was little there were not nearly as many toys in the stores year round that there are now.  How many of you spent hours looking at the pages of the Sears Christmas Wish Book?

We have been blessed with snow this winter.  My she shed, Hilltop Cottage seems to be enjoying it as well.

Thanks for visiting and I wish you the merriest of Christmases!

hugs,
Jann
