They will now take on Spain who beat Croatia in another thriller, winning 5-3 in extra-time.
The sides played out two of the greatest matches in recent memory in the last round and it remains to be seen how much it took out of them.
They will meet in Saint Petersburg with a semi-final clash against either Belgium or Italy at stake.
Both countries lost in the last 16 at Euro 2016 so will be eager to keep their runs going this summer.
